Cannot Connect To FTP server
From BulletProof Wiki
In order to connect and login to a FTP Server (such as your web-server or company), you will need to have the correct FTP hostname or IP address and (if applicable) your username and password.
The FTP Host/IP is the key to your computer finding a given FTP Server on the internet. Typcially, the HOST looks something like "ftp.mycompany.com" and the PORT is by default 21.
The username and password is given to you by the person or company running the FTP Server. BulletProof Software has no knowledge or ability to obtain your password, as it is set up by the person or company that owns and operates the FTP server. Contact the administrator of the FTP Server in order to obtain this information. If no username or password is required by the FTP server, you can use the default username of "anonymous" with a password of your email address (person@somewhere.com).
Error Codes related to logging in:
- Error: "Error 11004 (Valid name, no data record of requested type) finding address for host".
You have entered an incorrect FTP Host for the given FTP server. You need to contact the administrator of the FTP server in order to obtain the correct FTP hostname.
- Error: "Connection refused" or "Connection timed out"
An FTP server is not currently listening or awaiting connections on the FTP Host/Port that you have specified. Either the Host or Port is incorrect or the FTP server is current down. You need to contact the administrator of the FTP server in order to obtain the correct FTP Host.
- Error: "530 Login incorrect. Not logged in."
The User/Password that you have specified is not correct. You need to contact the administrator of the FTP server in order to obtain the correct username/password.
