User Account Limitations

With a registered copy, there is no limit to the amount of user accounts you can create. There is also no limit to the amount of users that can log in concurrently.

However you can limit what those users can do:

You can limit the users disk quota in a few ways. Load the BPFTP server software and click : Setup --> User Accounts --> Ratio, Quota, Bps then click the user you would like to set a quota on.

Now chose between two options, Enable Ratio, or flat out Disk Quota.

  • Ratio: With setting a Ratio for a User-Account, you can enforce a simple trading system built on a Credit System. Setting an Upload/Download ratio to 1 / 5 will allow the user account to download 5 bytes for every byte they upload.
  • Quota: Setting a Diskspace-Quota for a User-Acount will ensure that a given user can not exceed their allocated disk space.

You can even restrict their bandwidth:

  • Bandwidth Throttle: Setting a Speed Limit will help to control how much bandwidth a given user can take during their upload/download.
